Mapa Professional protective gloves provide solutions for many applications in the food industry.

Through its dedicated food industry selection guide, Mapa Professional aims to help end users check the food compliance of each glove according to the foods they actually handle, strictly in line with European and national regulations.
By providing the test results for all of the gloves in its Food Expert range, Mapa Professional aims to meet the strictest requirements of its customers’ quality systems.

Steps for choosing the most suitable glove according to the food being handled

STEP 1: Find the foods you handle in the food groups.

STEP 2: Identify the gloves suitable for handling this type of food.

STEP 3: Choose the level of protection required (single use, thermal protection, cut protection, waterproof) and the performance required according to your use. Then check the use and comfort of your gloves.

For example, you are required to handle fats and oils of animal origin. Our selection guide recommends the 3 gloves below: each glove has different uses. The TempCook 476 is ideal for use in the oven, while the KryTech 838 protects the user against the risk of cuts. The Solo 967 single-use glove is recommended for light food handling (food preparation...).

For each of our gloves in the Food Expert range, you will find a summary food safety table, which enables you to quickly find out whether the glove is suitable for the food being handled. The test report and the food suitability certificate can also be downloaded directly from our website.

Protection when handling and preparing food

When handling raw materials, the user may be required to handle, sort, slice, cut or chop food products. Different types of gloves can be adapted to different sectors.

For the fishing industry, the Harpon 326 protective glove is ideal thanks to its exterior finish with reinforced grip for better gripping of fresh and slippery products.

Thanks to its cotton support, the Jersette 308 waterproof glove is perfectly suited to preparation stations and heat treatments for fruit and vegetable processing, for long-lasting wear.

During packaging operations (packing, canning or bottling), cut protection may be necessary. Depending on the food being handled, the KryTech 582 cut resistant glove may be suitable, with its excellent grip in oily environments (Grip&Proof technology). This protective glove has excellent abrasion resistance and is washable up to 5 times at 60°C.

Protection during logistics activities

During logistics and maintenance activities, food contact may occur. It is then necessary to have the most suitable protective glove.

When storing or handling food in the warehouse, thermal protection (hot or cold) may be required. The TempIce 700, a thermal protection glove, thanks to its insulating textile support, is the most suitable glove for working in cold environments down to -10°C while maintaining comfort, dexterity and flexibility. Washable up to 5 times at 60°C, the glove has an excellent grip (Grip&Proof technology) when handling wet products, thus reducing muscle fatigue. The TempIce 700 is ideal when handling food in cold storage.

For deliveries (transporting crates, loading, etc.), handling gloves are suitable. The Ultrane 641, ideal for light handling, is compatible with all touch screens devices.

During maintenance and/or cleaning, gloves suitable for food contact may be required. The UltraNitril 480, for example, is ideal as a diving glove, thanks to the long cuff (46 cm) which protects the forearm and its non-slip relief. This waterproof glove is also tested for food contact.
